The Integrated Development Environment (IDE) in graphics mode, by which from Windows 95 until Windows XP valuable and not yet completed descriptions are accessible of the singular functions and possibilities from the view of Borland of that time. For the new version of the here begun documentation, also from the view of license it is forbidden just to translate these texts, as long as the first sale of this programme has not yet been 25 years before.
This development environment is not contained in the delivery amount of the free Borland compiler 5.5, but in the delivery amount of Borland C++ 5.02 only.
The possible control parameters are ascertained by a call of:
\Borland\BC5\Help\bcw.hlpand after selecting within the appeared help window:
bcw, command-line optionswhere the English explanation of the shortened answer reads the following:
Syntax: bcw [options] [file_name]
Options: -automate Enable the performance of automated OLE actions. For this, the integrated development environment (IDE) must be called as automation OLE server. -b project_file_name Use the integrated development environment (IDE) to generate the passed project_file_name. If the project consists of several destinations, all of them are generated. As soon as the destinations have been generated, the integrated development environment is closed. This option enables to run the Borland C++ equipment from a batch file, leading to automated builds, for example: bcw -b project.ide -dprocess_identification_number Load an already running process for debugging. By this, also just in time debugging is enabled. -iconfiguration_file Start the integrated development environment (IDE) with the mentioned configuration_file. For example, deviations of bcw5.ini may be: bcw -iconfiguration.ini -m project_file_name Update the mentioned project. If the project consists of several destinations, all of them are updated. As soon as the destinations have been updated, the integrated development environment is closed. This option enables to call the Borland environment by a batch file and this to automate updates of an own programme project, for example: bcw -m project.ide -q Start quietly (with no splash screen or message box). -s script_file_name Start the integrated development environment (IDE) with the mentioned script. Script parameters must be passed by inverted commas, for example: bcw -s "script.spp parameter_1 parameter_2" file_name Define by the file extension the environment for loading. bcw cpp\project.ide Show a project in the project administration. bcw resource\resource.rc Show a resource in the resource administration. bcw example\programme.cpp Show a programme in C++ in the editing environment. bcw example\programme.c Show a programme in C in the editing environment.
Whether in case of a translation of this programme into other languages also all option characters are to be translated, can be discussed.
The following call completes an example programme, which then can be run, and here demonstrates the possibilities of character fonts:
bcw.exe -m \Borland\BC5\examples\Windows\TrueType\TrueType.ide
By this can be imagined, what also own programmes will be able to do some time.
